Financial Controller

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the financial department of operation in Mozambique. Solid knowledge of finance and accounting is necessary to succeed in this job as the Financial Controller will assist in planning, budgeting and compiling sound financial plans.

The duties of the Financial Controller with my client in Mozambique will include:

  • Accounting and reporting
  • Treasury and Cash Management
  • Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Asset Management
  • Due Diligence and Audit

In addition to the above, the duties of the Financial Controller will also entail:

  • Ensuring proper update and maintenance of the accounts
  • Review all account related transactions
  • Prepare monthly cash flow projections
  • Reconcile cash and bank balances
  • Review and monitor budget performance
  • Provide guidelines on compliance
  • Review adequacy of internal controls
  • Prepare requests for approval
  • Checking and approving payroll
  • Ensure closure and resolution of audit findings
  • Provide leadership and guidance in matters pertaining to finance
  • Administer training for staff members
  • Assist in writing and maintaining local procurement policies
